Coptis Chinensis Root, the rhizome of Coptis chinensis Franch. from the Ranunculaceae family, is a traditional Chinese medicinal ingredient with the effects of clearing heat and drying dampness, purging fire, and detoxification. It is known as the “king of medicines”. The main chemical components in Coptis Chinensis Root include berberine, which is the only basic plant dye with a cationic chemical structure.
