Raspberry / Fruit: [Rubus idaeus L.] Raspberry is a shrub belonging to the Rosaceae family. According to traditional Chinese herbal literature, including Shennong’s Classic of Materia Medica and Miscellaneous Records of Famous Physicians, raspberry is traditionally recognized for its nourishing and tonifying properties, including supporting kidney function, consolidating essence, promoting healthy vision, antioxidant activity, anti-aging, antibacterial, and soothing effects. As a traditional Chinese herbal ingredient, raspberry has been used in traditional medicine for centuries. It was once recommended by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) as a third-generation “golden fruit” with significant development potential.
Angelica / Root: [Angelica sinensis (Oliv.) Diels] Angelica is a perennial herbaceous plant belonging to the Apiaceae family. It has a long history of medicinal use and is recorded in Shennong’s Classic of Materia Medica, the first comprehensive pharmaceutical text in China. Known as the “holy herb of blood nourishment” and even referred to as the “King of Herbs,” Angelica is traditionally valued for its blood-conditioning properties. It exhibits various biological activities, including soothing, antioxidant, supporting hematopoietic function, anti-aging, liver and kidney protection, immune support, and respiratory care.
Polygonum Cuspidatum / Root: [Polygonum cuspidatum Sieb.] Polygonum cuspidatum is a perennial herbaceous plant belonging to the Polygonaceae family. Its dried rhizomes and roots are traditionally used as herbal ingredients. According to Miscellaneous Records of Famous Physicians, Polygonum cuspidatum has a bitter taste and cooling nature, and is traditionally used for clearing heat, promoting moisture metabolism, and supporting detoxification. In traditional Chinese medicine formulations, it is commonly combined with other herbal ingredients according to the principle of “chief, deputy, assistant, and guide.” It has been traditionally applied in areas related to inflammation, metabolic disorders, gout, tumors, and viral conditions, with reported antioxidant, soothing, antibacterial, antiviral, and neuroprotective properties.
