Description
Cyclodextrins (CDs) are cyclic oligosaccharides formed by α-1,4 glycosidic bonds, typically consisting of 6, 7, or 8 D-glucopyranose units, known as α-, β-, and γ-cyclodextrins, respectively. CDs feature a truncated cone-shaped cylindrical structure with a hydrophobic inner cavity, a hydrophilic outer surface, and localized chiral environments. Their cavities can encapsulate various organic and inorganic small molecules to form inclusion complexes, enhancing the stability and solubility of active ingredients.
Tetrahydrocurcumin (Tetrahydrocurcuminoids) is a natural functional brightening active ingredient extracted from the rhizomes of turmeric (Curcuma longa). It helps reduce melanin formation by inhibiting tyrosinase activity, thereby achieving a skin-brightening effect.
