Bletilla Striata Root Extract (Bletilla striata) Bletilla striata is a perennial herbaceous plant belonging to the Orchidaceae family and Bletilla genus. Its rhizome is also known as Purple Orchid and is a traditional herbal ingredient with a long history of use. According to Li Shizhen’s explanation, it was named “Bletilla” because its white rhizomes grow closely connected together. Its medicinal use was first recorded in Shennong’s Classic of Materia Medica during the Han Dynasty.
